Martin Wylie
Before joining the practice, Martin led the Belfast office of respected UK practice Keppie, exposing him at an early stage of his career development to all aspects of running an architectural practice.
He joined the practice in 2015, as a well rounded architect, with his ability and commitment being recognised relatively shortly afterwards in his promotion to an Associate in 2018 and then Associate Director in 2023.
Martin looks after a team of professional and technical staff, that have a focus on the delivery of major, complex, multi-storey developments across the UK.
In recent years these have been predominantly in the residential sector, where they have successfully completed a 500 unit, 20 storey, PBSA scheme in Sheffield and two 10 / 12 storey 600 unit mixed tenure blocks for Ballymore at their Royal Wharf development in East London. They are currently engaged in a 380 unit scheme with Ardmore contractors, the social / affordable component on the Battersea Power Station redevelopment in London.
These projects have allowed Martin to develop an acute appreciation of the way construction methodologies are having to change in multi-storey construction following the Grenfell tragedy, and how important BIM modelling (with Revit software) is in ensuring effective coordination of structure, services and fabric.
Martin adopts a pragmatic, no nonsense approach to all his engagements and appreciates the multiplicity of issues associated with the successful delivery of large scale projects.
He is highly respected within the practice and given his demonstrable organisational abilities, drew the “short straw” in working along with Director Daragh Coleman in the reorganisation monitoring of resource planning across the four studios.
